Using the NanoVi™ device
You inhale moist air from the NanoVi™ device through a nasal cannula, usually for 20 to 40 minutes, two or three times a week. Performance athletes and people addressing health issues use it more. There is no danger of overdoing it because it is a drug-free approach that triggers your body’s natural processes rather than overriding them.
Using the NanoVi™ device before you work out gives you extra energy and may notice that your session is easier. If you use the device after your workout, you may notice that you recover and bounce back faster. However, using the device at any time during the day is helpful. You can use it while you are relaxing, working at a computer, watching a video or during any other stationary activity. You can also use it while working out on exercise equipment. This can be a great way to get the time you need on the device.
If you use the device while you work out, chances are that you breathe through your mouth. To accommodate this, Eng3 provides a special headset cannula, with a bar that can be adjusted to deliver the air to the nose or mouth.
How it works
Free radicals are unstable, highly reactive molecules. In our cells, they result naturally from cell metabolism and oxygen consumption and are also caused by exposure to toxins, stress, and other lifestyle factors. If the body cannot neutralize their negative impact adequately, free radicals cause damage at the cellular level. Free radicals, which are also know as Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), can impact the body in three ways.
- Damaging – the free radicals react with surrounding molecules, usually proteins, including the DNA, and caused damage. This hinders the protein functions and related cellular activities decline.
- Neutral – free radicals react with anti-oxidants and are neutralized. In this case they have no impact on cellular function. Anti-oxidants are essential but it is important not to over supply the body with anti-oxidants because too many can hinder the initiation of response described below.
- Initiating oxidative response – free radicals emit a specific energy that is received by sensor proteins whose job it is to initiate oxidative response. This ROS-induced response is essential to all cellular activity because it is responsible for repairing free radical damage.
The NanoVi Pro™ device is designed initiate oxidative response, which is the body’s way of counteracting oxidative stress damage caused by free radicals. While most of the free radicals are damaging, the final phase of certain free radicals acts as a signal, also known as redox signaling, for oxidative response. The excitation units inside NanoVi™ devices produce the same emissions as the final phase of the radicals, called ROS-specific signals. This mimics a biological process that triggers the body’s response to oxidative stress.
NanoVi™ devices are delivering the signals; they are not creating any kind of ROS within the device or delivering any kind of ROS in to the body. Testing was done in a physics lab at a major university to prove that NanoVi™ technology emits only the ROS- specific signals. By a process called signal transduction, these signals are delivered to the user to trigger oxidative response. Since the metabolism of oxygen and other factors constantly creates free radicals, strong oxidative response is essential to good health and vitality.
Oxygen Irony
Athletes metabolize much more oxygen than non-athletes – in some cases more than 100 times the amount of non-athletes. The additional oxygen metabolism is essential for performance but has the disadvantage of creating free radicals. The related oxidative stress ultimately leads to a decline in performance and regeneration. The quote below explains a paradox, called the oxygen irony.
“Each time a cells burns its oxygen fuel to create energy, it also creates freewheeling oxygen atoms known as oxygen free radicals. Therein lies the problem. Oxygen is not discriminating about what other molecular structures it might destroy in its quest to become electrically whole. If there are electrons to spare in a protein molecule, or in the fats that make up a cells’ membrane, or even in the DNA that is crucial to the functioning of our cells and our bodies, oxygen atoms will grab them and change them. This constant cellular wear and tear due to the ravages of oxygen is so pervasive that it has been given a name: oxidative stress. And like its psychologically based cousin, oxidative stress can wear down a body over time. Indeed, the biological consequences of this sort of electron scavenging can be found at the root of the normal process of aging. But it also has a part in cancer. Heart disease. Parkinson’s disease. Name the condition, and somewhere down the line, oxygen free radicals are likely to play a role”

Because oxygen is energizing and athletes can feel a boost from it, at least temporarily, some use hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT) or exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT). HBOT uses a pressurized chamber to press additional oxygen into the system and EWOT involves breathing concentrated oxygen while training. The tradeoff between performance and oxidative stress damage is a consideration, especially if an athlete is interested in long-term health and performance.
Because NanoVi™ technology helps the body counteract oxidative stress damage, anyone doing EWOT or using hyperbaric oxygen would be wise to also incorporate the device in their routine. The NanoVi™ device improves the cells’ ability to utilize oxygen, without concentrating it, so athletes notice performance results while addressing, rather than increasing, oxidative stress damage.
Easy to operate
The NanoVi™ device is easy to use. When the device is turned on it runs a self-test, then this screen appears. You simply enter the amount of time you would like by touching the numbers on the screen then press the start button. If you want the device to remember the time you entered, just touch the M. This stores it in memory as the default session time. C clears what you have entered.
Water in the glass container should be changed once a week or every 5 hours of use, which ever comes first. To do this pull the glass container holder up, unscrew the container, replace the distilled water and reinsert the holder. There is nothing complicated or difficult with the NanoVi™ device.
Lights illuminating the glass container can be adjusted with a remote control. You have many ways to adjust the colors including having them change or slowly transition, making them dim or bright, selecting one color or turning them off. If you go to sleep using the NanoVi™ device, you will appreciate how easy it is to turn the light off.

- Enjoy the session, the device stops at the end of the specified time, or sooner if the UserCard runs out of minutes. Minutes are automatically deducted from the card.
- Remove the SmartCard and cannula. The device is ready for the next user, without staff attention.
